Hang up and get a different operator or better yet, confirm the conversation is not getting anywhere and speak to their supervisor. RAC is quoting well as is Post Office. I run "special" projects for the worlds 4th largest insurer, see this trash all the time!

Just had a quote half the price that direct line want to renew . put in a no fault claim with direct line last year it took them six months to sort it out, and they still didn't pay out my out of pocket expenses in full. direct line = CROCK OF SH*TE in my opinion

Sounds like they're just getting @rsey about having to change the policy so frequently. How long has the policy got to run? I'd be inclined to vote with your feet and start afresh with someone else. I've never been asked how often I change my car when applying for insurance!

If a newish Veccy 1.8 was going to cost me as much as an Elite to insure I know what I'd do.

A newish Vectra is going to be worth considerably more than an 11yr old Omega.

My insurance is due soon, went on confused.com, they found me a 3rd party quote of £675 with a company called autodirect, its about the best i've had, 26, driving for 3 years but only a years NCB cos of an accident in 2005 in which i was at fault, I valued my car at £1600 for the quotes i searched for, and this is the best bit..

RAC wanted £3584!

RAC insurance really is a joke!  They wanted near 4k to insure the Omega when I had it, and near 7k for the corsa :S

Was pissed off myself though, 9 months in a policy, sold the Omega, went to switch to the Corsa and they just turned round and said I couldnt do it as its not available on the policy I had :| pissed off...

Ended up forking out £540 to insure the Corsa with another company, and lost the 9 months buildup to the 3rd years worth of NCB  >:(

Dread to think what will happen when I come to getting another Omega and try insuring that along side the corsa...

Policy ends sept 10th, I think I'll keep my wheels, and fit them when I'm insured with a better company...

Worth hanging tight for a couple of months though, to get my 4 years NCD...

aye all owned by RBS

We have both been with direct line for a good few years, hard to match their level of cover for the cost.

Mind you, 1/2ed her renewal, by cancelling it, and taking it again as a 'new' customer!
