Paperclip test
« on: 05 September 2007, 21:05:31 »

Just pondering after reading another post about the paperclip test, could the useless trafficmaster button be rewired to the back of pins 4&6 of the diag socket to give a test button?
My thinking is its a push to make switch so would just need to be held in to activate the test.
I seem to recall when I had the radio out i disconnected a trafficmaster adapter loom with a couple of wires leading up towards the button so these should be fine.
So how do I get behind the fuse panel to connect, easy job or half the interior out to do it?
Hmmm might have a play tomorrow, Jaime is always telling people to run a paperclip test regularly.
This would make it simple, and finally find a use for that stupid button.
Anyone see any reason not to try this?

Good idea. But I just wouldn't fancy having two pins in the diagnostic socket shorted out all the time. Especially as its only a two minute job anyway :-/

Now, if you could get Mrs Robot to read out the fault codes, that would be neat :y

Won't be shorted out all the time if its put through a push to make switch, only when you push it like a door bell does.
