Exhaust emission light

Just had a new exhaust fitted,after 140 miles the emissin light has come on.
Should i worry about this

Did you get the whole system inc cats replaced and was the kit genuine?

You need to get the codes read with a TechII, where abouts are you?

It would help if you updated your profile with car details/location etc.

on a 2.2, you will need to get the codes read so we can see what the ECU thinks is wrong.

It could be that one of the oxygen/lambda sensors has been damaged as that would pick up a fault code, or it could be an air leak unconnected to the exhaust or just the ECU getting used to the new flow and it may sort itsself out.

In order to remove the guesswork and prevent any damage to your car as suggested the best thing is to get the codes read by a Tech2.  Vauxhall will charge £50+ for this so best to find an independant garage with the technology.

Post the codes back here ie PO100 etc and TB will tell you what it means and how to fix it.

It's ok for now, but may use more fuel than normal, but if it flashes you should get it to a garage asap.

Hi, I'm experiencing exactly the same issue with light coming on between 140 - 250 miles. The fault code is P0420 - Catalytic Converter below threshold (Bank 1). Both O2 sensors replaced and wiring OK. In my case it looks like I need to speak with Eurocat (EEC) in Portsmouth who supplied the replacement cat.

How are you getting with yours?
