Omega 2.0 GLS estate won't start
« on: 20 December 2007, 09:48:28 »

Just tried starting my car out in the freezing cold and it turns over quite pathetically and won't actually start up.  After trying a few times the engine electronics lights is flashing.  Any ideas?

Sounds like the battry, is it turning over slowly?
It IS the time of year for battery failures, they don't like the cold, I've just had to replace both of ours, on the 2nd I had to wait for stock as they had a run on batterys!

The flashing EML could point to the immobiliser, but that could well be a side effect of the battery.

If our immob plays up, I open and close door, lock and unlock with the keyfob, then try again.

Yes, very slowly for a bit until nothing at all.  Then the same if I wait about 20 seconds and try again.

Got a set of jumpleads?  then you can prove it  ;)

Then off to Vauxhall for a new battery.

paid about £40-45 on trade club
halfords trade card gets them for a similar price....If you (or anyone near you) has one.
Quite a bit more retail unfortunately.
