leaking sunroof?
« on: 28 May 2008, 20:14:06 »

Hi all, with all this lovely rain we've been having, I have a slight damp problem in my omega.  It is dripping from the drivers front corner of the sunroof straight onto the driver seat :-[

Is there a drain in the sunroof area and if so, where does it drain too?

Any help on this would be really appreciated, thankyou.  A wet seat is not comfortable when driving plus duct tape don't look good! :'(

There should be 4 drains, one in each corner its a tube which exits just behind the front wheels or just in front of the rear wheels.
Check to make sure these are clear ;)

Don't push anything too big down the holes, you risk dislodging the pipes, I blasted mine with an airline .. made a big difference. I was told to use a welding rod .. as apparently this is the right size ...... but chickened out.

I'll also check/try to find the tails too! Thanks ;)

My guess is 'blossom' and those cherry sticks as I park near tree's both at home and work, I try to keep this stuff off the car but not easy!

I have used one of those stretchy, white plastic covered net curtain rail thingys that the female of the species love to use on toilet windows (or at least, mine does).  Its strong enough while bendy enough to wriggle it down drain tubes to ensure they are clear.

Use an air line with caution.  A face full of stale soggy crud does not taste like fillet steak......    ;)
