Do injectors ever fail?
« on: 30 June 2008, 06:59:16 »

On my way to work this morning the EML lit and the car was running like sh*t. Paperclip told me "26 Injector valve 2 Voltage high".

Do injectors ever fail, or is it more likely that there's an open circuit somewhere?

More likely to be the wiring, check the wires in the engine wiring loom tray

Will do during lunch hours. The loom is a bit of a mess because of the piggyback system between injectors and loom tray (car running on ethanol). Chances are that I upset something the other day when cleaning out the breather jet.
Will also check that the injector resistance is in the 14-16ohm area.

Have a good look at the multiplug for the injectors, the wires break close to the plug.
The last one I repaired broke so close to the connector that there was no room for heatshrink so I soldered the joint and then used a wrap of selotape as a mould and filled it with araldite to stop any others breaking.

Solved. One loose connector from the piggyback system.
