the tick over is terrible but only when this problem appears the strange thing is the car can drive (and tickover) perfectly  for anything up to half an hour then start all this carry on. its a intermitant fault because it can clear its self. (and the check light will go out). im totally lost :(
Still think you have unmetered air, so double check all that.

ok so i checked everything and nowt. im going to take it to vauxhall and they can put it on tech2. i dont know if that will be able to show up more than a paperclip test but at least i get to donate £60 to a worthy cause :-?

Unless you get a good technician, and I doubt you will at dealer, you'll find they will start changing parts willy nilly

could it be a lamda sensor. would that show up as a fault on engine managment light.? :-/
