You sure it wasn't (engine) 'Oil Level' that came up?  If so, half a litre.

as Jimbob says, MID cannot tell you if its low.

It can say "Auto Gearbox" which means a leccy issue generally.

It cannot report the fluid level in the box.

MID cannot tell if atf low.  Only signal it gets is a 'I am not happy' signal from box 'Automatic gearbox'

Often mechanical, but any issue that the ECU detects as abnormal.

Check the ATF level, there's a maintenance guide. Where is it dripping...

not unheard of to confuse atf with 50/50 pink coolant. If its watery and tastes sweet it coolant but i would tend to put 2 and 2 together and make an atf leak, as you say, but atf when old turns black and stinks. Get it up on a ramp and have a look. When was it last serviced? Should be every 60k. Decide what to do from there. 5 or 6 bottles of dextron 3 and 2 gaskits for the small and large sumps and a filter to change if you like or clean the old one. Engage all gears, check level . Other than that a top up and see where the leaks coming from while your there. Bloody messy to do on the drive, friendly local mech with a ramp and a print out of the guide is best. Dont go to vx they will take the piss and get the level wrong. Hope helps.

no but easyest way to makes sure you get the right bits and oil. Having said that they had to order in the dextron 3 as they only had a couple of bottles.
Just in case, my parts bloke tried to sell me some other fluid instead. It MUST BE dextron 3.
