The driver side heated seat doesn't heat up, the dial spins and lights up but no heat, the passenger side one does. Is this a common fault with a easy fix ( fingers crossed )

Fuse ? if so where ?
Loose connection ? where to they connect tot he seat ?
just plain broken, unless it is dead easy to fix I will leave it.

I take it the pad is deep in the chair ? not that easy to take it out of the passenger seat and put it into the drivers ?

You need to remove upholstery if its cloth, to get to pads.  Pads are around £70 a set I believe.  Not really need on cloth, tbh.

Leather, apparently pads sewn in to leather, so no chance.

It is leather buuuuuuuut, I am a upholsterer ( traditional antique furniture, not car interiors ), might try and buy a old drivers seat and have a look at taking that apart to see if it is achievable. Are the seats the same on the prefacelift/post facelift cars ?

But the it should be constructed the same roughly though right, so if I tear that apart and get the pad out of it, I can use that experince to judge if its not to much hassle to get the one out of my seat.

Many older leather ones will have failed heaters anyway, so watch out for that.
