Disconnecting throttle cable
« on: 04 October 2008, 18:58:17 »

Hi all, I am currently in the middle of removing intake plenum to clean all the intake breathers, throttle body etc, and more pertinent, replace the coil pack.

Unfortunately I have reached a show stopper in that I cant for the life of me get the throttle cable connector to throttle arm off.
I have removed the ? shaped clip but the damn cup still doesnt come off the small ball joint--I've used plenty of force both with a small screwdriver behind the cup and with a pair of pointed pliers,no go!
Anyone have any tips or suggestions to get this bu**er of?

I did think of leaving the body in situ and just flipping the plenum over and out of the way but it would mean I would not be able to remove the breather assembly for cleaning.

Remove the plenum with the cable attached, and then unbolt the throttle body with 4 bolts at at front :y

Thanks james, that would solve the removal of breather assembly.
Just have to clean the throttle body in situ.

Too dark now continue tomorrow!

It does come off mate honestly, it just needs some persuasion from the right angle!
