Changing manual gearbox oil
« on: 26 December 2008, 19:11:40 »

Hi,

Hope everyne had a good christmas! Im going to change the oil in my gearbox, feel its getting a bit notchy in 1st/2nd and the cars pushing 80,00 so think its due. Is this an easy job or do I need to drop the sump? Recommended oil? Any filters?

Cheers,
Iain

Easy on a manual......remove the drain plug to empty and re-fill via the level bung to 8mm below the level plugs edge.....takes about 1.2 litres of fluid

before you undo the drain plug make sure the filler plug comes undone easily!!! have known 2 or 3 people drain them than not be able to get the filler undone as it chews up and then  you cant drive the car!!!! :y
