33mpg from a tractor is rubbish, take into account petrol is almost 10p a liter more at the pumps, you might as well run a V6  :-/
says someone with, from own admission, a high 20s mpg 2.2 ;)

No point changing it, get nothing for it, i might as well run it into the ground.

well im currently in the middle of testing just normal driving up and down the mountains (2nd and third gear up and freewheel down) plus motorway work everytime we have to go to malaga or gibralter, with the tank brimmed at the local garage have just over 20litres left according to the gauge, but it has clocked up 587 miles so far!!
the car was serviced just before i started this test with new oil and filters etc, so will report back when i have run it low and refilled!! :y

After getting a feel for Tractor economy, just to see if mine has something fundamentally wrong, or if they are all just crap.  Just trying to work out if its worth spending any more time and effort on it.

Only interested in 2.5TD engines here.

Computer MPG: 38
Actual MPG: 32
Chipped: Yes
Gearbox: Auto
Driving Style: Spirited

Sounds about right Jame!
Since you and Mark chipped my manual-boxed estate, it's returning 33mpg constantly. Taking into account the Valleys terrain and 'reasonably spirited' driving style I'm pretty well satisfied.
Still, I'd be even happier with more MPG - but wouldn't we all!

Valleys terrain ?!?  Most of your patch is more like the Alps.  ;D

Okay 'Alpine' terrain it is then - but much more testing than in your 'Sospan' and 'Jack' areas .... !!!

Mine I would say is much the same as your's, mine is chipped also.
Pre chip I regularly got around 29mpg just local short stop start driving. Longer journeys would return around 42mpg pre chip.
Yes the MID display is wayward with the figures after the chip is installed, especially the range "miles left in tank" readings which seem to be all over the place..........Having said all this would I take the chip out................No!....... rather have the performance at the expense of economy.

In my opinion the chip transforms the performance of the TD and it was supposed to give me better MPG as well (so the guy who supplied it says) but hey I'm not complaining for the money it cost me. Really comes into it's own towing the caravan (no jokes please) more power  even if the MPG suffers. It used to be really scary towing before the chip was fitted, especially pulling away from a standing start......gutless.

Mick

We sing from the same hymn sheet Mick! - though I haven't tried towing our caravan since it's been chipped.
