BT do it at 70mph to stop naughty apprentices trying to get combo vans to 120MPH on the m6 on their way to Yarnfield

But my BT mechanic collegue told me its done via Tech2

The vans get to 70 and then the fuel supply is cut as the power dies out

but no setting in the 2.5/3.0 (won't worry about 2.0 as thats not fast enough to care ).

I've never seen a BT van in a hurry - actually I'm lying.  only when they are late to get home or rushing to get a brew on

Im an apprentice (for a different company), and we have combo vans....... trust me they certainly dont go 120 mph let alone 80 lol

Our new vans are all limited to 70 mph, though. Upon reaching 70 (or 73/74 or the dials) they jus stop revving.

Not Combo sorry Vivaro!

Corsa 1.3 CDTis will barely just scrape past 105 takes about 20 minuites from 70 to get there but it does!

I've never seen a BT van in a hurry - actually I'm lying.  only when they are late to get home or rushing to get a brew on

Never met me on the roads then when I used to work for them - my transit went like brown stuff off a shovel, just as well as I always used to book too many appointments in a day due to workload (I managed my own appointments/workstack as a troubleshooter)

mine was an older one - remember I haven't done a real job for 15yrs

mine was one of the first cse vans, handled like a dream (but let go suddenly if you overcooked it) and spent a lot of its life having its engine 'freed-up' in the outside lanes on m40/m1/m4/m25

LOL! Myn was a 2.4 Mk4 Di which would start to get very hot after 90 mph handled well for what it was though!

there was a guy on the patch that had a sherpa and wanted a transit when they first come out so he rammed his sherpa in 1st gear going down a very steap hill

BT being the way they are though insisted on a full engine rebuild! instead of replacement and in true BT fasion after spending 100's on a rebuild replaced his van with a transit a few weeks later!

Mine sat would sit all day at normal temp whilst doing instant ban speeds on the motorway...

There are other implications to replacing vans before their time.  They have to find me a temporary maestro when my ital rusted away, before I had that heap of an Escort (first in the company) they gave me.
