so get a 3.7 ohm resistor.......makes little odds as to date, the airbag is showing 6ohms so 3.3 in parralel gives 2 ohms.

And dont worry about understanding it Jimbob, its electricery and ohms law  :y

As this fault isnt constant - no continuous live data to show if resistance does alter 'on the fly'  what are the consequences off adding a resistor when the airbag is behaving normally at 2 ohms?

Well, had another squirt of contact cleaner, all back together, and reading 2.5 ohm again!

least its off for the weekend!

Well, no resistor installed (yet) and it had been behaving.

Light back on, so disassembled again, and more contact cleaner.

Success no more Side airbag resistance high (was over 6 ohms again)

ohh hang on....

Side airbag resistance Low WTF!!!!! Now its sitting at .67 ohms, FFS!!!!

any body got any matches?
Check for an intermittent connection. IIRC, these srs components go low resistance when not connected, wonder if ecu saw that
