heat shield loose

Just had the hand brake adjusted and have been advised the source of my rattle is loose heat shields.
They recommend getting it mig welded to resolve as its better than removing. just wondering if any one else some easy fixes for this?

both ours are held on with rather big jubilee clips,

solves the rattle dead easy.

was recommended to use stainless steel ones  :y

The heat shields on my 94 V6 exhaust downpipes slowly disintegrated & then disappeared.  oops ::)

I bought some exhaust wrap from a motorsport shop to wrap the pipes with to prevent overheating but never got around to fitting it...

On the underside of the car, between the centre silencer boxes and the body, are some big heat shields. On mine one of the threaded studs on the underside of the car sheared off when I undid the nut to release the heatshield to get to the handbrake adjustment. I eventually stuck some sticky foam pads to the edge of the heatshields where the stud was missing to stop them vibrating together.

Might give that a go, just need to get time to get under the car and sort it now  :y

I also recommend stainless Jubilee clips, I actually used banding, like they use to fit Bus stop signs to lamp posts, but the same effect. Works a treat.

I also used the jubilee clip route has been ok since  :y
