Help! locked out with no battery
« on: 11 February 2010, 08:55:08 »

Had a complete blonde moment ::) ::) and not even blonde :D :D After having problems with the alternator I have been taking the battery off at night to recharge, to get kids to school in the morning :y Last night I locked the car with remote and then removed the battery to charge ::) didnt think anything of it until the penny dropped and now of course I can't get in it :-/ I have tried turning the key and lifting the handle and all the other methods involve jump starting the car in different locations. But if I have no battery then this won't work :-? :-? Son has exam at 11am, live in a village and only local with transport is going to a funeral today so PLEASE HELP!!!

ok thanks will go and have another go :y The door has dropped a bit and so on a good day it takes two hands and I have to lift it up a bit, so maybe making it harder. Wasnt sure if battery had to be connected for this method and didnt want to break the key :o

the key should work but believe me, you will think its going to snap the key  :o

other then that, try jacking the front of the car right up and see if you can get a battery charger on the alternator  or starter terminal  :y
12 volt ( red one ) and the black ( neutral ) onto a bear metal piece of the car  :y

As said, try WD40 on the lock, moral, always keep the lock well lubricated, you never know when you will need to open it with a key.

I oil mine regularly, with 3:1 oil.
