Rear view mirror

Wot do u do to fix one of these, mine is soooo loose it just flop's a round  :'(
Only just got the car, didnt see the prob till after i got home- bugger.

Is the mounting point on the screen secure? Mirrors just slide onto its mount. Remove it (grab each side of the mirror & slide down) & check inside where it slides onto the screen, there's sprung clips inside IIRC.

If it's the same as the one on our poverty-spec 96 car, you'll find that the socket bit of the plastic balljoint that the mirror pivots on is cracked.
Small tyrap done up v. tight around it may help.

Ah! You're probably right, I forgot that not all mirrors are like mine.
My Astra's used to be loose on the ball too. SWMBO's Astra had a mirror that stayed put ...... funny how easy things get swapped from a car that's been written off.  ::)  ::) :y

 ::) Sounds like a ball joint, perhaps it is time to upgrade to an auto dimming one?  ::)
