Hi folks
just wondering if any one has had to change the oil cooler pipes on 2.5 tdi (bmw)
Mine has developed a pin prick leak where its corroded through!! looks like a bit of a job to change it!!
Would it be possible to chop out the corroded bit and replace with a small legnth of suitable rubber hose and clips???
or havei got to change it??
Car doesnt use to much oil its just dripping on my drive, other than that all seems ok.
if any ones got any suggestions or easy fixes i would appreciate some info

Why not try splitting a rubber hose lengthwise and clamping over the leak with jubilee clips? A quick fix  if it works.

Same thing happened to me
The Oil is under pressure & you must use steel piping accoding to my mechanic
Vx changed the pipes & fittings at one time & the earlier ones are no longer available, so you have to change both pipes & all of the bracketing that support them
I was quoted £60+ for a single pipe so managed to get a complete set with all of the fittings from a breaker on e-bay for £20
Mine leaked where it had rubbed as it passed through the body. I was told that had it failed all of the oil would have been dumped very quickly & bye-bye engine
Have never been able to clean up my drive!

as you say bridge it out and use hose clips I used fuel pipe

Personally, I'd be looking at replacing 'em.

If that pin-hole develops further, you'll VERY rapidly dump the entire sump's quantity and say goodbye to the lump. By the time the warning light comes to your attention, it may well be too late.

You may find that the pipe has chaffed near the oil cooler. As a precaution, I've sleeved some hose between mine at this point.

if any bodged repair fails say goodbye to the engine!! look up pertek or similar hose/hydraulic people who will make you a copy iof your original hoses for a reasonable price
