Boot release...
« on: 19 May 2010, 20:34:18 »

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, and very pleased I've found you.

I've just brought an Omega, 2.6V6 CDX. one thing that doesn't work is the boot release from the in-car button, It works ok from the IR remote but not from inside the car via the button.
I've tried with the ignition on and off, key in the ignition and key out, still nothing. looking at the fuse box I can see any fuse for the boot release.

Anyone know of this problem or can anyone advise me as to how to rectify it?

Thank you

Hold the button in for 3-5 seconds

yes, daft as it sounds, try holding the button for longer..

on early cars, the button was instant, but the key HAD to be out the ignition to work.

realising how frustrating it was not being able to open the boot with the car running they changed it to work either way on later cars, but requiring a long press to avoid accidental openings.

well, I feel very small! That works after holding the button in for 3 seconds.

Thank you for your help.

Here you go matey, this will help you, and so everyone can read your threads !!!!!   :y

Avatars and Signatures
Not everyone has a 20 meg broadband connection to the forum and some use mobiles/PDA's.  Please keep avatars to below 75k to avoid annoyance to low bandwidth users. Also, keep the maximum size to 110 x 110 pixels.

For the same reasoning as per avatars, please keep signatures to less than 3 lines of std text. If using images, the maximum height is the equivelant of 3 lines of std text, and no wider than 640 pixels.
