« on: 08 June 2010, 16:09:53 »

Was on the motorway today doing 70 and the oil level low sign came up on display??stopped immeadiatly and topped it up,warning gone but I only changed the oil and filter 2000 miles ago and was all at correct level.checked on Sunday and al was ok.water level tiny bit low so topped that up.no patches of oil anywhere on driveway or engine as I cleaned the engine and bay on Sunday and no smoke when driving!so the question is should I worry or not?just keep checking it?Thanks guys! :y

I had this on mine just recently too . Level was at 3/4 and i was going round a long left turn when it flashed up Oil level .
I wouldnt worry too much unless it comes on again or unless the red oil light was on as well  .
It comes on i belive if its 3/4 on the dipstick and maybe going round a bend or corner made it think it was lower  :-/

As Shrek ::) says. Oil light is known to illuminate when level is below max on dipstick :y

It tends to come on when cruising, when the oil approaches halfway between min and max.

Try to keep it topped up to near (but not above) max.

Oil must be going somewhere though ? Check in the plug wells for a start. My 3.0 doesnt use a drop between services now, the only time it started slowly losing oil the cam covers gasket had gone.

When you say temp I am asuming you mean water temp.  If this is the case the needle should be at half way point on the gauge.
