2.2 vectra 2000 model

can anyone tell me what software you need to access the ecu?? i have a tech 2 and lappy. but the socket, although a 16 pin socket is not the obd2 one.. as there is no pin6 i can't do the paperclip thing...i gather its not tech1 as that socket was 10 pin .. can anyone shed some light please..

You wont be able to paperclip that......so if you cheapo tech2 the hungarian software will be able to do it  :y

so i can use the tech2 interface and software i have?? but the plug is different , what are the pin outs from the vehicle socket??

It should fit, if the cable was bought for Vx's  :-/

under the flap under the handbrake.. but it looks a different type of socket than what my meega has.....i just don't want to blow my lappy up.

the vectra socket is like the 16 pin socket here

Its the same socket as the Omega just under the handbrake.

Veccy-B under handbrake, Veccy-C near ashtray, both standard 16 pin OBD type connector. Veccy-C is CAN and OBDII, Veccy-B is proprietry like Omega

Ive had it connect to a 01 2.2 vectra no probs

Presume it works ok on you meega?

it works great on the meega.. just got it to connect..not that it tells me anything...protokol 2031 and a couple of other bits. but it wont read the codes for some reason.. it reads them fine on the meega. yes mate thats the problem with the hungarians..ha ha .. but its agout 2 digits cheaper than the real software....as i'm now freezing to death i'll have another play tommorow...i think this vectra needs a gallon of petrol and a match..lol
