So what panel filter do you guys recomend?

its still cooler underneath, no engine heat

I never had any problems with engine on my others cars,
The powerfilter would still get cold air from a "plastic pipe" that's fittet on the front of the car, but of course it would not get so much cold air as normal, but it doesen't give any danger on the engine 

Performance panel filter will give you maybe 1 or 2 more bhp and fully use the standard air intake. Id go for that and just enjoy the sound of that rev happy 16v engine

Take the throttle body off, give than a good clean, same with breather pipes, along with some quick oil chanages will no doubt give you better increase in performance.

 

Also, what does an oil impregnated filter do to the MAF?
