HID level sensor
« on: 04 March 2011, 06:29:22 »

Has anyone had any trouble with these? My front sensor arm will not keep in its place, it drops off from the sensor almost daily. It is very loose fit, is it renewal or can it be fixed? I put some tape on the ball on the arm to keep it in for a day or two but it can't be like that forever. Are they expensive in UK? In Finland I'd expect it to be some 100 euros  :-[

think some fix with a cable tie arrangement, and when that no longer works, they source second hand as VERY (£150 ish) expensive new.

Sensor for my previous car was £50. Must be two years ago now though.

And agree it should have some sort of protection to keep the crap off it. Ime experience the small ball joints seize slowly and pull the large ball joint in the back of the sensor out, usualy when the car is jacked up. Once its popped out, fubar. Replace. :'(

I had exactly the same problem, the sensor arm wouldn't stay in place. Got a replacement from a forum member by posting in the "Car Parts, bit for Sale and Wanted" section. :y
