ABS question
« on: 14 August 2011, 17:49:34 »

In an earlier post I asked for help about lack of speedo. Well after digging about I pulled off the wiring plug going into the top of the ABS and it had quite a lot of corrosion. I managed to clean it up but noticed that one of the pins were actually broken, which would explain a lot.
Question is......I've attached a pic of the part I will need and I'm hoping and praying....would it be possible to replace this part without removing the whole unit?...just wondered as it is right on the top

It's on a 97 2.0

Here's a link to a unit identical to mine

Can't help with the answer about what you have to replace but pre 97 cars had three channel brakes I believe and then the minifacelift cars of late 97 onwards had 4 channel brakes that suffered from failed ECUS a lot. So I am fairly certain the "Body" that the ECU mounts on will be different.

Do you know for certain that the part in the EBay ad is identical to yours?

Picture wise it's identical. Part number may be different but is identical to the one in my car
