Sidelight bulbs
« on: 19 April 2010, 16:58:01 »

Has anyone changed their sidelight bulbs to get a closer match to the xenon headlights? I have seen a few led W5W bulbs that look good but is their any issues with the on board diagnostics? Only asking as I know you cant do it on my Vectra, throws up a bulb warning.

You only get the lamp warning if the LED replacement doesn't come with the loading resistor built in.
What may be a bigger concern (depending on how much respect you have for lighting regs) is that the light output from LED's is directional.

Thanks KW, I have trolled umpteen forums on this. On the police forum, officers are using them, as long as they are E marked they are legal apparently. I was on ultraleds and they do wide angled led sidelights which should negate, to a certain degree, the directional output.
