Left side turn signal stays on
« on: 25 June 2010, 10:44:04 »

My Omega facelift 2.0 GLS 16v W/2000 plate has a late type 3 button remote fob which needs new microswitches and hence i can only open the car manually by the key itself. When i do however, the hazards flash (inbuilt/factory security system?) and these only go off when the ignition is switched on. Lately the left hand side indicator lights all stay on (or come on while i am driving and stay on) which is obviously a legal problem on the road. Could it be that by not using the fob, that i am not disarming the security system properly and hence these lights coming on in this way and would a replacement fob solve the fault or is there another answer? Any answers may be useful.

Is it a simple job to have the power sounder reconnected????

Why oh why was there never a V8 Omega????
Such a missed oppurtunity.
Look forward to the Cadillac ATS & ATS-V. Maybe a re-badged one will replace the Miggy as a RWD runner?

The alarm is acting as designed by going off when you use your key like this.

I suspect your indicator stalk is wanting replacing for the indicator issue.
but you can try 30 or so presses of the hazzard switch in case its the connections there causing the issue.

I would get your key repaired?  do you have 2?  is so send one to Martin Imber here who does a repair service.

PM "Martin Imber" on here re; repairing your fob http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=614D5E584542731D151A1E2C0
When locked then unlocked with key the alarm powersounder (sounds like yours has been disconnected) will activate along with the hazard flashers. As you rightly say, hazards stop when key put in. Untill you get the fob sorted I suggest when locking the car, remove key, close all doors then open rear driver`s door and press the button down on the driver`s door. Alarm is then not activated. Don`t forget to have the key in your hand when you do this

Powersounder /main alarm horn are seperate.

My guesses .. main alarm horn has been disconnected .. it should sound at the same time the indicators flash !! Once key is fixed reconnect it .. :)

Indicator wiring through the hazard switch gets dodgy .. as said .. press it 30 od times .. often clears..

Martin Imber to fix the keys.. excellent service

Rear door system works well .. had to do it for a week while Martin fixed my key !!
