Projector headlight- busted internals- repairable?
« on: 02 December 2010, 09:06:42 »

Had a headlight bulb go yesterday so thought I would change the darned thing straight away. Took me 90 minutes to remove the headlight after I failed  to get the bulb out of its mountings. When I succeded, I discover that  a piece of plastic near the adjuster has broken and the  reflector/ bulb holder is floating around in the unit.

Is it possible to remove the clear plastic lens to make a decent job of a repair, or am I going to have to stump up the cash for a new unit?

Yes, there is a guide in the maint section (see my sig for the link)
and the part that is broken is available in aluminium - see headlight adjuster in parts for sale stickies

:)Thanks Jimbob. I have now extracted the broken bits using your excellent guide,  and e mailed/ Pm'd for a pair of replacement Ali adjusters. From the pictures, I could not see how what I observed as broken (through the bulb holder hole) was anything like the replacement part. But I should have just trusted you and I could have had them ordered earlier.

 Thanks again!
