A couple of productive days would see that sorted :y

Also, if t'other side is in a similar shape , repair both using later lower panels and pop a facelift bumper on it :y

I did think of that already, but if I do that so the car won't look odd I'd have to change the front end so the bumpers are the same then thats front bumper frame, bonnet, lights ect  :(

Why? F/L bumper will cover the lower panel, and re using the black quarter trims will finish it off nicely :y

Incidently, the OSR quarter on my 54 plate is a PF/L one :y

That's fantastic news  :y  as looking at the 2 models the f/l trim looks slimmer than my black trim so I didn't think they would fit together, I don't really want to get rid of it as it's one of the best cars I've owned so would like to get it up to scratch  :y :y

If replacing the whole panel, take your time to find the seams :y.

The ones behind the tailgate are obvious, as are the ones inside the rear door. Once the quarter window is out, all bolts and no glue, the upper seam will be obvious :y. Lower edge is simply stuck to the wheel arch and spot welded around the bottom edge. Although they look different, the panels are the same shape below the trim line, so should keep things straight forward.

Even the clips for the trim are in the same position :y.

Good luck, Al :y.

p.s. window trim unscrews once window is out.
