I've made some progress also, but am not quite there yet. I've got the IP address from the Humax and managed to get files from the Humax onto my laptop. Only problem is that I cant then open them  :'(.

These are the*.ts files right?

My VLC media player wont play that file extension. I'm using XP Home, any ideas?

Thanks - Rob

I didnt originally think of doing that.....the reason i was interested in doing this was so that you could archive programs/films off the Humax that you wanted to keep...when the Humax had run out of disk space. Then move them back to the Humax when you wanted to watch them again  ;)
