Window washers Not working
« on: 13 April 2012, 10:17:01 »

 >:(Hi,just purchased a 2003 CDX and no water is coming from the jets, water comes out the headlamps but not the windscreen, obviously the pump must be OK,I have needled the jets and they dont seem to be blocked.I have traced most of the pipe and it doesn't seem to be leaking anywhere.Just thought I would ask before I start removing everything as it may be a simple soloution.
Help would be very much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum
Two separate pumps for the screen & the headlight washers.  ;) Whe trying to wash the screen, can you hear the pump trying? A common fault is that the strainer/filter that the screen pump sucks from, gets blocked. The pump is just a push fit, pull it out & clean the filter. Pretty sure there's a guide somewhere in the Maint section  :y

Found it.  :y http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90616.0  :y

AFAIK separate pumps for headlights and windshield. Check the fuses, also separate for these. When washing the screen do the wipers go on?

edit: too late again...  :D

If you've given the jets the needle treatment, you need to disconnect the jets (passenger side corner by bonnet hinge) - you will need to remove plastic hose there (use hot water to soften).  Blow compressed air down jets and back up the pipe to jets (do NOT blow down pipe towards pump or you will bu**er pump) until good flow.  Reconnect pipe and you should be good.

If not you will need to replace nozzles (they tend to block in corner of 90º turn in jet) - new (unheated) ones ~ £5 each

HTH  :y

Above assumes pump ok and filter not blocked
