A few years ago my Mum complained that her washing machine was getting noisy and difficult to control. Had a look and when it was spinning she had to stop the machine from wobbling.

Inside the drum was held by three bolts. One was in place, one had fallen out altogether and the third was only holding one end.

Quite a simple fix with some stud fix. Open it up and have a look with the power off of course. :y

Took the top off and had a look underneath , seems to be things like shockers but all intact . Ran it on spin and the noise is coming from the center back of the drum clackerty clack  "center bearing maybe" i dont know  :-\ :-\ :-\ belt is fine as well  :(

Had a bad day yesterday what with one thing and another , now only to find the washing machine has thrown a wobbly and packed up  :( Anyone know where to get a bargain price used one or cheap new one , ive looked at the local ads but nothing about  :y
Currys, Comet, etc.....£170 all in gets you a an 8KG machine......and it ain't getting any cheaper than that for a new one at todays prices.

Don't bother with secondhand, it simply isn't financially viable unless you are given the machine for free to start with.

Ours packed up last week bought a new one just over two hundred quid, and as mentioned previous cold fill only but works great :y :y

Strange. Even when we have hot water available, it still heats up the cold. Why take away the hot fill?

One reason I saw given was that they can't 'A rate' a machine unless they know how much energy is needed to heat the hot water; and they can't know that if it's not the rated machine doing it.. so hot fills are relegated to <B ratings.
So, yes, gobal warming...

Thats daft!

So assume the hot water feed is cold water......give it a rating....

Then if the hot water feed is actually hot water, then thats an added bonus for the customer!

Simples!

About five years ago, my mates washing machine had a shot drum bearing. The local DIY supplier said the bearing alone was not available as it could not be replaced. The complete rear plate was the only thing listed...£160.00 plus vat. :o

After removing the rear plate I looked at the bearing and reckoned it may knock out with the right sized drift and if it didn't work, what the heck, it was knackered to start with.

Three good whacks and the bearing was out. I matched it up with a motorcycle front wheel bearing we sell at work, and refitment was just as straightforward as the removal.

Total cost...£9.00.  :y

Do some research on what workings are inside the machine. I was at a shop recently looking at machines, and they had a "home brand", their own label. Fine, I said, but what is inside? There is no way a shop is going to manufacture a machine from scratch. Bosch was the answer.
Worth checking out.
