Offside rear door pin that pops up when locking and unlocking keeps sticking up and wont go down until activated a couple of times with the remote ... Any ideas how to loosen it up without damaging the leather surround . Couple of time i got back to the car not realizing the door is not locked properly  :-\

As cem says .. not just the pin .... that is simply a long piece of wire connected to the actuator/motor.....

The pin movement is a function of actuator movement, so you need to take the doorcard off and see what is preventing full movement .. it might just need lubrication of the mechanism at best .. at worst it might need replacement ...

IMHO that would achieve the square root of zero.

"squirting something down" a piece of wire just ends up with the "something" dripping off the other end .. the chances of it getting to where it is actually needed are remote, to say the least.

Job needs doing properly, door card off to diagnose, then rectify as appropriate.

Cars this old you need to expect to have to do at least one door with a central looking issues at some point IME.

If the button moves, the motors is working, but usually the locking mechanism is stiff and causing resistance to the motor which it can't over come. So it fails to lock.

At least that's me experience anyway.
