If its filled to right level, and is not showing electrical faults, probably best to replace box with a known good from a breaker.

thanks the problem is i don't think checked properly for instance today garage after me showing them how to do sheet on checking atf they put car on ramp and undone the plug and out flowed the atf it was about 1/4 litre i then mentioned about how to do and they done plug up jacked car up drivers side undone plug but still come out so i mentioned about running car.so they done again with car running this time they put in about 1 litre and lowered car and a bit cam out not a lot then the done the plug up. but gear change still a bit of a slip. i reckon maybe gearbox needs service as it was going ok a short time ago and was told there was a leak from box and after checking when car lifted today it looks as if leak was from plug.there was a staining from plug rear wards. so problem is will this box be ok if dropped serviced and put back would this be a faster and cheaper option?
sorry if this sounds confusing buy my car diy sucks! reason why hoping to find a member competent enough to carry out this task
oh no gearbox faults showing other than spanner light comes on now and again normally after turning right when car at angle it clears after waiting a bit for it to decide to change gear
thanks
ps not sure if you got my message marks DTM caib
