P1614 code.
« on: 02 May 2013, 20:15:17 »

Sitting in the car today waiting for SWMBO, for want of something to do I tried the pedal trick. Up came the code P1614. Now after checking the forum I know this is to do with the immobiliser chip.
However, the car is working fine and the chip is in place in the horseshoe part of the key.

Should I be worried that the car may suddenly decide not to start?

No, they are one of the codes that never self deletes, just means it hasnt see the chip at some point, or has read a different chip and not started due to that reason.

If the car starts and runs, dont worry about it.
