How to completely disable a malfunctioning alarm, power sounder has been disconnected, bonnet sensor has been disconnected, alarm is quiet for weeks, them randomly activates for no apparent reason, even when deadlocked with 2nd application on remote.

Not very easily...Have you had the alarm codes read to see what the trigger is?
As youve an estate, I would be guessing at the rear / boot window sensors.

Just found this for a Zafira, does anybody know if it works for an omega???
It won't fix the cause, but to shut the thing up, turn to page 184 in the operators manual.. find the fuse map.. there should be 5 rows of 9 fuses... all colour coded.. top left, nearest the big fuses (which I have ignored) is fuse 6, to fuse 14 at the other end of the row.. 15 is under 6, going to 23, and so on.

Pull out #13 <5amp>(top row second in from right) Pull #15 <5amp>(second row, furthest left

Pull out #21.. <5amp>immediately under where #13 was Pull #32 third row, furthest right (20amp)

This will neutralise the alarm, but keep the central locking.. DON'T leave the fuses in the car.. take them inside, and contact the garage at a more socialble hour.. this wil allow you to drive the car, saving a small fortune in pick up fees.

To my knowledge there is no fuse to silence the alarm...wouldnt be a very good system if a thief knew to remove 2 fuses for silence!

And wouldn`t exactly be a great idea to publish how to disable the vehicle security on a public forum either now, would it?

as a previous poster put it will be the rear glass sensors, the conectors just pop off and get dirty over time so loose conductivity, if you pull wires off window the alarm will think its a saloon and revert to that state, i know been there with both mine and now silence is golden
