Aircon compressor guide
« on: 18 July 2013, 22:27:55 »

Big thanks to Hotel21 for the most recent guide  :y
Hoping to get mine looked at again next week. Not convinced this is the problem but if it is, then I'll maybe have an idea how to sort it  :y
Almost worth changing the seals anyway I guess, just to rule that out  :(

Thanks for the thanks!   :)

Mine was loosing performance gradually and when I had it regassed last I made sure that dye was added at the same time. The dye ended up escaping round about the sealing washers and I was unsure if it was seals or compressor so ended up changing both.

Might be worth a dye check on yours as well?

Yes definitely. Can't be the pressure valve so soon, and it worked really well for a short time. I thought a leak test was part of the regas procedure, but maybe not. It's a pity you can't DIY the dye instead of having to rely on others. I'll ask for it this time though to make sure.
