Time wise, mine is due in about a week and a half, done 4 years ago. That was at around 15x,000 miles. Now 208k.

4 years is up next March for my MV6  . .   but only 12k on miles  . . . still gotta do it though I suppose  ::)

Oh, yes. The record for short cam belt life was Jimbob, IIRC. Couple of hundred yards, I believe. ;D

IIRC, one of the pulleys fell apart. Manufacturing defect. >:(

Yes, Mark (and I)  changed the Heads on my old 3.0 MV6, did the cambelt while we were at it.

Ran beautifully for a mile or 2 test drive, then it cut out, clatter clatter clatter.

Coasted back to Mark's  and investigation revealed a pully had detached from the backplate.

A weekend hard work wasted, and a family stranded 100 miles from home.

FIL came and picked us up, and Mark refurbed the knackered heads and did it all again!

That's gutting!!! did it damage pistons too? I presume not.

but at least you had it fixed quickly  :y

talking of heads-found a pair behind my tool box ??? must make note--too many coffee tables-sold 2 am doing another now-wait for glass--- :y so usually got enough top end stuff kicking about-
