Nationwide Autocentres
« on: 26 May 2008, 19:57:33 »

Father Tunnie had his 2.2 booked in for a MOT at this place on Saturday.

He rang after he went over there saying he needed picking up.... so i went down there.

he got in saying it needed £500 of work for the MOT!  :o

I asked what work they quoted for, he said 2 new rear springs, and a new exhaust.

My reaction was... and.... what else?

That was it!

£190 for 2 springs inc fitting, £370 for patten exhaust!

Bugger that i said, i got him to go in and collect it, no way we were paying that.

The guy behind the counter said, whats your problem with pattern parts? (refering to the zorst) they are good qauilty. They come with a 2 year warrently!

My reply was: yeh because they only last 2 years! The current one which is GM has lasted 7 years and 98k, and i can get it for £220. Go figure!

So went straight down the dealer and ordered an exhaust, then over to MK for some springs.

Paid £45 each, fitted them that afternoon thanks to TheBoy.

Fitting the exhaust next weekend, £100 less for GM than quoted for pattern!

About 20 years ago I took my Chevette in and they failed it. Then the guy offered to buy my car for scrap value as the cost to repair was too much.

I took it down the road to another test centre and it passed. It passed the next year too in a 3rd MOT centre.

I have, and will, never go back to them again. It was damn near criminal.
