2.5 v6 abs
« on: 31 December 2013, 17:16:26 »

Hi, new to the forum and i have recently acquired a 2.5 v6 manual estate and it has the ABS light and TC light on, i am also getting no communication between the abs ecu and a snap on scanner. i understand that this usually means new ecu time. In preparation i pulled out the old ecu and began looking on ebay for a new one. I'm a bit confused about which one i need, i know that unless i get one from another 2.5 v6 manual it will need reprogramming. However, i am wondering if i could use one from a 3.2 v6 and get that reprogrammed, or does it need to be from an x30xe or x25xe engine car? The part no. on my current pump is 0 273 004 206. Does anyone know if this is correct for the car?

Many Thanks

Ben

Had the same dilemma when mine went south. Fitted one from a 2.5 non matching part no off ebay.

I expected strangeness which would result in diagnostic adjustment, but all seems ok..

Many thanks those who have replied. I have ordered one from a 3.0 it has the same part no. but a different IDENT (DJ as opposed to DX) Vaux EPC states it should be a DX for both x25xe and x30xe. I have access to "My Naff Code Reader" so hopefully i will be able to interrogate the ecu once it is in the car and have a look and make sure its working.

Thanks again

What age car did the donor part come from, it has to be 1998 or later.

Avoid any programming options with that code reader of yours...

You could have sent your original one to these guys for repair.  ;)

The part i ordered is off another 2001 car. Ive used "My Naff Code Reader" quite a bit on other cars and know to stay away from using it for programming... ask me how i know... When it required programming ill either go to drive vauxhall in aldershot as they are fairly helpful or try and find someone local to farnborough with tech2

Should be fine. Cant remember if that one needs programming for engine type.

Kevin Wood in Alton is the nearest Tech2 I know of...
