Propane bottle / pikey van question
« on: 21 July 2015, 11:57:52 »

For the first time in about 5 years, i've remembered to take a bottle of gas down to the van so we don't have to spend a fortune on takeaways to eat  ::)

Picked up a 6kg bottle yesterday for 15 quid but can I hell as remember what size spanner I need to bolt the regulator on ?

Anybody help on this ??

Cheers "Nads"  :-*

30mm seems to ring a bell, but from memory different bottles makes can use different sizes so adjustable would fit the bill.

The bottle already has a tap on it
Just need to bolt the regulator on but I don't own a 30mm spanner so I don't think its that big  :-\
24mm rings a hazy bell  :-\

If not, i'll have to part with some sheckles and buy a adjustable  :(

Either that or a big spanner and make sure you've got loads of pennies or washers in your pocket.

The calor spanner for the 37mbar propane regulator (red) is indeed 30mm.  :y
Just measured mine across the flats. Just a reminder that it's a left hand thread.  ;) :y

You can buy a stamped metal spanner from most gas retailers/caravan shops for not many pennies - some may even give you one gratis. Oh, and definitely left-hand thread, do not overtighten it as it has a rubber insert.
