Political correctness or a lack of moral courage?  The jury's out on that one.

A large dose of both imo.

it was seen as racially motivated, no notice was taken of them. :y

Very true, and in my view that decision as taken at the time was the correct one. Applying hindsight is the wrong test entirely. If a group has no credibility, why should anyone take any notice of what they have to say? That isn't to do with being politically correct, it's about judging your sources. Hard to pick the one truth out from all the lies and exaggeration no?

Why have I received emails from certain members who have posted on this thread, after my post, letting me know there are replies and I should look at them??  :-\ :-\ :-\

Never seen this before :o :o

I'd guess you accidentally clicked he notify button?  ???

Easily done when it's right next to reply.

Sorry, but I don't agree. If you ignore everything people say just because you dislike them and their views, you are going to finish up exactly where we are now, and hundreds if not thousands of young women have had their lives destroyed. We have politicians and civil servants paid vast sums of our money to monitor these sort of extremist views, and regardless of the distaste with which they are viewed, we should not excuse our paid authorities for not investigating such claims. Fortunately, I believe we are slowly learning the lesson, witness the much more involved action relating to current extremist views held by a minority of the Muslim population. :y

It was in no way the correct decision, because a few social workers and a lone voice police woman knew exactly what was happening and had the evidence to prove it.
Every time it was "sent upstairs", the powers that be buried it because it was seen as a political hot potato. They even blamed the under age girls, due to their promiscuity !  :o
It was a combination of not wanting to get on the wrong side of people who carried a lot of power  and influence in the localities (which is why the perpetrators thought they could act with impunity) and collective cowardice / dereliction of duty, by people whose job it is to be brave and take their duties very seriously.

Ah, you misunderstand me, the decision not to investigate was clearly wrong for the reasons you cited, however the OP was specifically talking about the testimony/support of the point by Nick Griffin. That, is the part which I feel should rightly be ignored. It's only with hindsight that you can pick out this truth from all the other drivel the BNP and other such disreputable organisations put out on a daily basis.

The deliberate suppression of evidence on the grounds of not upsetting people/political correctness which you describe is categorically wrong and in my view those involved should be sacked, and pursued to the fullest extent of both civil and criminal law. In many areas we have totally lost our objectivity as a nation, along with most of our common sense it seems.

Not objectivity, Identity  ;)

For the last 40 years or so, we have been brainwashed into believing whatever our lords and masters at Number 10 say.
If you dare to disagree, you are branded a racist, a homophobe or a sexist.

Tony B Liar ( and he wasn't the first ) openly invited any 3rd world oppser and there ideas that would come here on the pretence that those who come here will vote for him for ever and ever so keeping the idiot in power for as long as he wanted to stay.

If we objected in anyway, we was hounded be the lefftie brigade and told to repent our sins or be dammed to have hot forks stuck up our arses for eternity.

Nowadays, we are just a multicultural / no specific gender shithole were whoever shouts the loudest or whoever has the brightest flag wins.

But hey, as long as our masters are happy who gives a fooook  ............

No, you ignore them because they are proven liars who will say anything to further their political cause. Which also happens to be distasteful and divisive.

He "championed" this cause without providing any evidence (as far as I could find) and would have done so whether he himself believed it or not.

If you take account of disreputable sources who say things with no evidence to back it up, you're just wasting everyone's time.

The fact that it transpires he was right on one issue changes nothing.

The very point I was making, what effort did our authorities take to investigate if there was any evidence for these claims? None, due to the fear of being seen to acknowledge that a known racist party might, amongst their many extreme claims, had actually told the truth in this case. Had they done so, we could perhaps have seen this vile practice, of grooming vulnerable young girls for sexual sport, investigated much earlier. Instead of which, we now have Lord Macdonald stating that these cases should now be treated as racist crimes. How the tide has turned.

Im currently listening to the Nigel Farage show on LBC. The abuse of these young girls is the topic for discussion tonight, with callers ringing in to voice various opinions.
Two things have been of interest so far. A child protection social worker, who has done the job for 25 years called in to say this has been going on the whole time he has been in his job. He said it breaks his heart when he comes across it, and the police always seemed to have an excuse (until recently) why they weren't going to get themselves involved in it.
The second thing was (and I well remember this case) that Rotherham council, about five years ago, removed two children from very experienced foster parents when they discovered that were UKIP supporters, and said they must be racists!
This was the same (Labour) council which would not listen to anyone who told them about the widespread gang rape of children in their area by gangs of Muslim / Pakistani adult men.
It makes me angry beyond description.  >:( >:( >:(
