I can confirm, if its a ground nest, a litre of petrol and a match does sort it out, but dress up well (I put on my full bike gear)

Think I've killed them! 

On the third attempt of trying to squirt Wasp Nest Killer via a tube through the hole in the ceiling, I obviously hit the sweet spot, as I managed to dispense the entire can in there and the next day there were only a couple flying around outside! 

No need for petrol or lycra!
