Busy night in Staffordshire....
« on: 18 August 2008, 22:54:07 »

Just caught this on the webnews.....

One person died and more than 60 people were injured after a coach crashed into a garden in Alton, Staffordshire, emergency services said.

Seven people were still trapped in the wreckage and two people were airlifted to hospital after the coach crashed over a bridge and then careered into a garden.

Two helicopters, eight ambulances, four rapid response cars, a doctor and two first responders have been sent to the scene at Station Road.

One of my aquaintances is a Police Officer on the scene, apparently at least one is confirmed dead. It is thought they are foreign workers  :'(

I know the area round there well lots of blind bends and very narrow roads manys the time i`ve had to swerve whilst driving the 7.5 tonner for comet because of people not thinking ahead and ending up on my side of the road and its caught me out too its even worse in winter or bad weather like tonight high winds and heavy rain at times  :'( :'( :'(

That used to jokes was expecting something like the old 2 seater irish plane crashing into a cemetery, rescue workers finding 100's of bodys and the search continuning.

Was shocked when I realised it wasnt and a tragic accident :(

I am familiar with those roads too, they can easily catch out the unaware.

Never like hearing this kind of news, especially when they were on their way for a day of fun.
