On the one hand, I disagree. I've seen cars with a digit moved like that as the one next to it moves.
On the other hand, if it is genuine, he would have shifted it easily on the trader,so why ebay.

I'm confused.com

When any car leaves the factory the digits are correctly aligned and will remain that way due the precise nature of the mechanism. When they are wound backwards the mechanism cannot cope and at least one digit will become out of alignment. No one is going to clock a car upwards, mine has done 172000 and all digits are in line. Why is then that only those which are old in years but young in mileage are out of line.  :) :) :) :) :)

Edit: My missus has a 1997 Corsa and its only done 70K, possible.... but the digits are not aligned. There was also minimal paperwork, I therefore assumed when I bought it that it had been clocked.

Easy to believe 70k an an early Corsa as given thier purpose of a shopping car when new low miles are to be expected. :)

OK, thats fine and I understand. Try reading this, especially the 'Extra Info' section on the right. But its all worth reading.

True, i know it happens but don't think anyone would go to that much trouble on an early Mig.
The one i posted above looks a much safer bet. :y
