Spam posting warning?
« on: 18 July 2009, 11:38:31 »

A couple of times recently a message has popped-up saying I`ve broached an OOF time threshold for anti-spam posting and have so-many(?) tries left.......both occasions I was making an ordinary 1st. post (a 'thread starter') what`s going on? :-/

...or do I just assume the usual reason: "Linux is crap" ;D

Linux is crap, but thats not the reason for this error ;D

Are you using a proxy, or does your ISP force you through transparent proxies (AOL and NTL/Virgin are the biggies that do)

Just seen your ISP, they don't force you through proxies.

Let me know if it happens again, complete with exact timings

There are a number of things that can cause the error. Don't want to go into in depth details, as its part of OOFs security, but proxies and changing IPs (mid session) are common causes
