Oh bugger
« on: 17 August 2009, 08:13:05 »

I went to pick up a TD omega yesterday that has a knackered clutch but I thought I would move the car down the road and then phone the AA telling them I had broken down and need to be trailered home, wrong ::) I paid for the car and got a push down the road then phoned the AA who said they would be with me in about 1/2 and hour. The AA man turned up, started the car and try to get it into gear, it wouldn't have it. He then started the car in gear and the bloody clutch worked but was binding slightly :-[ he then said you drive it and I will follow you back (oh bugger no insurance). Now every time i've bought a car I always take a days insurance, i've had a clean licence for over 20 years and for the sake of £17 its not worth the points or a fine so do I come clean or do I drive it. Well I drove it home 25 miles but I guarantee I will never drive a car again without insurance. On a positive note, I got 51 mpg on the way back, OK, I didn't go over 70mph but 51 mpg is brilliant :y
