What poxes me off is the fact that supermarkets control the cost of local fuel prices. I was in Wrexham last Tuesday and the petrol in the local Sainsburys was 101.9 yet in Northwich the same day at Sainsburys it was 105.9 >:(

that wrexham shell is always cheap!

What gets me is if they put 2p on income tax the whole country would be in an uproar! >:(

There's no comparison AA. 2p on the basic rate would cost everyone a lot more than 2p on a litre of petrol.
Someone on, say, £50000 would pay an extra £440 a year.

And stop buying Vera Lynn records. ;D

there is sod all we could do about it.
You underestimate the power of the people.
Look back to 1981 and 1985 (among other years) if you think you can't do anything  ;)

means sod all to me mate. i was only 6 at the the time
Brixton, Toxteth, Tottenham, etc, etc...basically the public got fed up with being crapped on.

Trafalger Square...1990...you'd have been at least 11 then....you must recall that?

That was a night out and a half that was. ;D
I kitted my entire house out on the strength of Brixton 85  ;)

A mate of mine said similar after the Miners Strike, assuming we are talking 'overtime'   ;) ;)

i dont care how much it goes up, i will not bow down to that rather prick in no.10 and by a smaller car.  >:( >:( >:( >:(
Especially when the lazy fat bastard uses a Jag to travel between No: 10 and the houses....a distance of 250 yards!

If he really gave a toss, he'd be using a Toyota Pious (and no, that's not a spelling error).

When he was Chancellor, he used an Omega.  But I never liked him very much despite that.

I just can't believe how utterly inept the man is when it comes to public relations.  He shoots himself in the foot every time,  whether he says anything or not.

Even in Afghanistan the other day, he just looked like a bumbling fool, although I must admit I felt a bit sorry for him.
If only he didn't exude this 'I know best' attitude. A bit of humility would definately be in order.

Principle is the big Hammer for me.
I dont mind paying duty, and I dont mind paying VAT. What does make my ears go red is paying BOTH, When paying the VAT we are also paying VAT on the Duty!  A TAX on the TAX.
I try not to think about it! >:(

I buy about 150-200L/week .... equates to a rise of about £12-£16/month....not a great deal on the grand scale of things....but still an increase i could do without   :(

It costs me £45 (25 mpg / 250 miles) a week at the moment.

With LPG at 45p I will cover the cost in 5 months.

So its tha LPG again route for me.
