Dyson (Vacum Cleaners) (Thread 2)
« on: 21 August 2010, 23:09:26 »

I have a Dyson Animal, bought not long after it's realese, quality not as good as the early models.

Never had a single problem with and must be going on 6 or 7 years old.

we have the dc07 animal too..

When it works, its great, really do like it.

but when it doesnt, needs a bloody good service, and even then sometimes getting good suction isnt easy.

it is showing its age, few cracks in handles, had to repair the hose..

I like it, but dont think i'd buy it again.

trouble is I despise vacuums that always suck though the hose, I prefer them to suck direct, then swicth that off when tools are in use and stop the brushbar.  these now seem few and far between  :'(  except by dyson.

Debs.

I have a 5 year old DC07....and a catalogue of bills for replacement parts.....incl. three motors. :'(

Sadly, Dyson`s (often) appear to be a 'triumph of style over quality'.

I can only repeat from the fan thread that since they were first introduced I have had one; first one I left with the house we sold, the second is still going strong!  :y :y :y  No spare parts ever needed, with no breakdowns and a great performance level 8-) 8-)

I wouldn't buy any other.  8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) :y

My Mum had a DC01, good at the time.

Bruv bought her a DC04 and it was heaps better than the 01.

I just had a basic hoover at the time and borrowed the 01 to try and must admit it put mine to shame, I then borrowed the 03 to try and swear it found stuff the other 2 had missed.

When I got the 07 animal I have to admit it was fantasic.

The only other vacum I have seen that I would condifr was a bosch one, was superb.

The ball Dyson is nothing new, my autie had a something with a ball device back in the 60's
