When something like this happens, you can't help but picture your kids at your funeral, or you at theirs. Makes me very sad.

As everyone has said, 36 is no age to go. :'(

I had a similar sad occasion to attend a few years back. HGV driver lost concentration for a second, a friend of mine was in the wrong place at the wrong time and I end up at a funeral wondering how his pregnant wife will cope. Well, she did, remarkably well, but there's now a little girl who'll never know the father who would have been so proud of her. :(

A very sad loss and our thoughts are with the family.

I lost my cousin suddenly 18 months ago and he was in his early thirties, very sudden and very shocking. 'Sh1t head' (as he was affectionately known) will always be sorely missed.

Some good did come from it as he was able to donate quite a few organs  and the heart warming letters since received from such appreciative receivers help to soften the blow.

My next door neighbour who was 36, she was coming home from our town centre and she was on her mobile and some how she triped and went under a bus and got killed out right, she was a teacher  and you dont think it would happen to some one who lives next door to you and she was a lovelly young lady that didn't deserve to die and that happened last july and it really upset me when i found out

I count myself lucky that my wife is alive after tripping on a raised paving slab in London, whilst on a trip to the theatre.
The bus swerved but clipped her as did the following taxi who stopped, and as she had not been run over, he took her to UCH. She was allowed out in time to get coach back, on condition she went to Amersham hospital the next day for checks. Fortunately battered and bruised only.
She was so lucky not like your poor neighbour :(
She did get to see the show, as when she went back to work a week later, Waitrose paid all travel expenses, paid for a meal, and pucker theatre tickets for her and her friend.
It could have been so different had that bus driver not swerved!!!!!!!!!
And LD...commiserations to you and your friends family :( :(
