So, sour grapes aside, does this stink to high heaven? Or not?

I am really pleased with this decision. Why should our government be allowed to spend our money lining the pockets of the fiddlers of FIFA? It's a very dirty game and I think we are better off without it.
In fact, we would be better off not having to deal with the fiddlers of the EU or the mafia of Russia also, but you can't have it all.

I've no axe to grind, I'm not English so looking at it impartially the England bid was far and away the best technical bid yet apparently only 3 or 4 delegates actually even bothered to read the report!! In a 4 horse race for the best bid to recieve only 2 votes out of 22-and one of them was from their own guy........hmmmm, I don't buy it.
If a bid that good gets only 2 votes(and one of them was from England itself), theres little point in ever applying unless Fifa radically changes its voting system.
Oh and a final point, I hear Sepp Blatter "reminded" the delegates of the "evil media" (ie the free british press) before they voted......i'm sure now that Blatter has avoided giving England the World Cup, our press will leave all those honest, hardworking Fifa delegates alone  ::) ;D

the whole thing stinks, and for that reason, to show support for our neighbours, Scotland will refuse to qualify for any future World Cups, a plan they put in place over 10years ago ;D ;)

Russia is still a huge state with a pretty shambolic infrastructure and big hooligan problem and corrupt to the core.I can see all them fans and players flying around in those old twin prop Aeroflot Dakota's.Sepp Blatter will offcourse have a nice private jet and a few of them sexy Russian prossies to keep him company.

Qater is just a pile of sand about the size of Yorkshire, isn't it ?

Always wanted to go to St Petersburg though which is supposed to be really nice,so if there's any games in that vicinity i may just have a sniff.
